On the other hand, ignoring the issues behind such activities will not result in a permanent solution. My observation is that the application of the "nitimala" is not fair. I prefer not to argue more on this.

However, good to see some positive actions. I have my honest sympathy to "her". Hope SWI become a good host of "colorful moments".

কৌশিক বলেছেন: This is little bit confusing. Thanks to Mia Muhammad Husainuzzaman to raise the point and surely it's a strong allegation against somewherein. It has failed to judge other woman harassment issues in line with Deborah case. This may be subsided by saying that after establishment of policy, Deborah is the first victim, if I don’t mess in my brain! Then I should sincerely request not to let it happen again.
I am surprised to see sachalayatan’s progress in this regard. They are more communicated with bloggers and response in line with their aspiration and objective. This was possible only for the people behind the initiative are bloggers. But the people behind somewhere are not active blogger in this platform and therefore they don’t get the peck of their doings. Only the bloggers cum administrative personnel with the same kind of passion which a general blogger holds can assure the moderation and other make way out tools.
I strongly think that you need to engage few known bloggers who have strong capability of managing writing issues and writers in your team. Sometimes I think about a person who can boost the platform to a great level of achievement. Bratya Raisu is such a brilliant blogger who worked in different medias including newspaper and tv channel. But I’m not sure if anyone would be born from your team like him.

1) we finally got our set of detailed rules, which makes it easier to moderate with blind justice. these came into effect just three weeks ago and are followed by stricter, but hopefully fairer, moderation.
2) we would love to see the blog platform equally used by both genders and for this we need to make our female bloggers more comfortable and happy with the blog environment. we have never moderated with hard hand before, but the new rules will be used to prevent harassment and eve-teasing. we will have zero tolerance with attacks and shameless support to the attackers like today, be it a moderator or another blogger. attackers and their supporters will be banned/suspended. bringing in more female bloggers and helping them feel comfortable is also a positive way of building a more interesting blog space. we have been deprived of much good writing as several female bloggers left us.
3) we can definitely do better in involving the bloggers and draw on their good talents and network. thanks for your support again.

I'm not sure under what jurisdiction Somewherein falls under, but under US and European laws (definitely Norwegian laws), breaching personal information (e.g. "unmasking" an anonymous user) is not allowed.

Coming back to the original issue, it is very sad to see this site degenerate to a chaotic place where people would post such vulgar things. I hope the Blog publishers would institute round the clock moderation. And also, be neutral in enforcing the regulations. Good luck.

মিরাজ বলেছেন: With all respect to blog moderators I have to say that you are not enforcing law equally. There are strong examples of discrimination. A number of bloggers have blown a recent incident out of proportion and you should have the intellectual ability to find the core truth.

A number of bloggers escaped capital punishment despite committing similar/more serious crimes which "Chaturvuj" pointed out in her recent blog.

"Either you are my way or high way" should not be prevalent in blog which is unfortunately the case. Moderation policy is expected to be fair and should take the "context" of every comment before taking the harsh decisions.

Bowing to some thinly veiled propaganda attempts does not set good examples here.
