গাদ্দাফীর কতজন নারী দেহরক্ষী ছিল, তার ছেলেরা মাসে কতটাকা খরচ করতো এসব নিয়ে পশ্চিমা মিডিয়া অবিরাম প্রচারণা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। কিন্তু গাদ্দাফী সম্পর্কে নীচের তথ্যগুলো কেউই বলছে না:

১. লিবিয়ার নাগরিকদের জন্য ঋণ নিতে কোন সুদ দিতে হতো না।

২. ছাত্রদেরকে তারা যে বিষয় পড়ছে সে বিষয়ের পেশাজীবিদের গড় বেতন বৃত্তি হিসাবে দেয়া হতো।

৩. চাকুরী না থাকলে রাষ্ট্র তাকে ভাতা দিতো।

৪. বিয়ে করলে সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে বিনামূল্যে বাসা দেয়া হতো।

৫. বিশ্বের যে কোন দেশে লিবিয়ার নাগরিকেরা পড়াশোনা করতে গেলে সরকার তাকে ২৫০০ ইউরো, বাসা ভাড়া এবং যাতায়াত ভাতা দিতো।

৬. গাড়ী বিক্রয় করা হতো ফ্যাক্টরীতে তৈরী করতে যে খরচ হতো, সেই দামে।

৬. লিবিয়ার কোন বৈদেশিক ঋণ ছিল না।

৭. সকল নাগরিকের জন্য ছিল বিনামূল্যে শিক্ষা ও চিকিৎসা।

৮. জনগণের ২৫% এর রয়েছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিগ্রী।

৯. উত্তর আফ্রিকার মধ্যে লিবিয়ার স্বাক্ষরতার হার সর্বোচ্চ (৮২%)

১০. রাস্তায় কোন ভিক্ষুক ছিল না এবং কেউ গৃহহীন ছিল না।

১১. আধা কেজি পাউরুটির দাম ছিল মাত্র ১৫ সেন্ট।

- Loans to Libyan citizens are given with NO interest.

- Students would get paid the average salary for the profession they are studying for.

- If you are unable to get employment the state would Compensate you till you get employment.

- When you get married the couple gets an apartment or house for free from the Government.

- You could go to college anywhere in the world. The state pays 2,500
euros plus accommodation and car allowance.

- The cars are sold at factory cost.

- Libya does not owe money, (not a cent) to anyone. No creditors.

- Free education and health care for all citizens.

- 25% of the population with a university degree.

- Libya has the highest literacy rate of any country in North Africa
(82% of the population can read and write).

- No beggers on the streets and nobody is homeless (until the recent bombing).

- Bread costs only $0.15 per 1/2kg loaf.
