Love at First Bite ??
December 31st, 1998:
Today is the reunion of Princeton College. Anuvoba has just performed on the stage. She is the last person to perform in this session. She changes her dress hurriedly and runs towards the room where food is being served for the performers.
 “Hello, I haven’t got my food yet. I was a performer. Here is my coupon,” says Anuvoba.
• “Umm. Sorry. Our stock is over. We don’t have any more food for the performers,’’ the boy at the food corner replies.
 “It’s ok. Actually, I am late.”
The girl turns around & comes out of the room. Its almost 1 pm. She hasn’t eaten anything since morning. She hoped to get food at least from here. But the stock is finished here too.
• “Excuse me? Will you please come with me?” that food corner boy comes out & asks her.
Anuvoba looks at the boy. The boy looks nervous!
• Will you please follow me?” the boy asks again. Anuvoba unknowingly follows the boy and later finds herself alone with the boy! The boy suddenly closes the door. “ Oh, no! What is this? Why am I here? Who is this boy? Why has he closed the door?....storm of questions shot her inside. The boy sits down & brings something out.
• “Take this. Only this packet is left. It has a chicken burger in it.”
 “No, no its ok. Haven’t you kept it for yourself? So, you should take it. However, I will manage it.”
• “I order you to take it. You don’t need to bother about me. I don’t want to hear anything else. Your face says it clearly that you haven’t taken any food for long.” So, just take this tasty chicken burger and eat it. Ok?”
Anuvoba takes the food and goes away. She is so astonished that she forgets to thank him let alone ask his name. Later when Anuvoba enquires about the food corner boy, her friends tell her that his name may be FIROZ…..
Six months later:
Anuvoba is now in HSC 2nd year. She gets a cell phone for the first time. One day she was reading the souvenir published in that program. There, she sees a name ‘FIROZ’ and his contact number. “Should I call him? Is he that ‘FIROZ’? ” she thought to herself. But she couldn’t resist herself, so she called..
 “Hello? Is it ..umm..is it Firoz?”
• “Yes.”
 “Well, are you that Firoz who came to the reunion program wearing off-white dress?”
• “No, but one of my friends went wearing that dress. Why?”
 “Well, he helped me in that program. I want to thank him. Can you give me his number?”
• “No. O f course not.”
 “Ok …then thank him on behalf of me”, Anuvoba disconnects the line.
Anuvoba feels so humiliated that she curses herself for trying to track the helper. ‘But as a matter of fact, nothing can be done truly to thank that great boy personally’, she thinks to herself. ‘So, the helping boy is lost forever’.
BUT MOVIE WAS NOT FINISHED YET. The boy called her back and then..
Ten years later:
“It’s a snack bar. I want to have burger now. If you don’t give me, I won’t go from here.”
“Uff!!Allah knows how Supana has got her mother’s nature? Burger, burger & burger…!!
“It’s your fault Kush, you forced me to have burger on our first day. I think you mixed something with that burger for sure. Now, you will have to make up for that fault by feeding me & my daughter ‘the tasty chicken burger’ for the rest of your life…hee hee haa haa…
