Raghu Leishangthem

Born 1March, 1959 at Thoubal, is a science graduate of Guwahati University; Ex-General Secretary, Naharo Sahitya Premee Samiti, Imphal; Life Member, Writers Forum, Imphal; Ex-Joint Editor, Sahityagee Pao(a quarterly Manipuri literary journal); regular newspaper columnist, writing on a wide range of topics covering art and culture, social problems and literature; programme contributor, AIR and DDk, Imphal; Member, North East Writers Forum, Guwahati and Co-Convenor, Literary and Cultural Organisation Commitee (LICOC), Manipur.

At present, he is working as an Inspector of Excise, Government of Manipur. There are already three books of Manipuri poems, 1. Punshi telanga (1991) 2. Lanbu lei oina shannariba (1998) 3. Nung asi laini Lei asi Ee-ni (1999) to his credit. Mfany of his poems had already been translated in English and appeared in a number of poetry books and journals including Indian Literature and Blossoms (and anthology of poetry from all over the world).
