dear bloggers,
i want to write you this note to share our views and work with you. let me first assure you that our team every day read all your feedback, posts and comments regarding the new blog and the quite frustrating problems that has occured. we try to translate these into bug reports, how to improve the user experience and request for new features. i request you all to post your problems as comments under this or other notice board posts to gather these under one umbrella.
there are several big problems unresolved, but if you give us some more time, we strongly believe that the new blog platform will give you a much richer blogging experience. somewhere in... is giving you this service for free, but since january three programmers and two designers have spend most of their time on the blog, and still do. we do our best with the limited resources we have, and we will not take rest before all problems are resolved and all features are in place. just please don't compare this with a paid service that would have much more resources at hand to give you professional products. we care for the blog and we care for you, the best we can.

let me share some thoughts of where we are going. in short time the group blog feature will be enabled. any user can then invite friends and start a group blog. this may be friend circles, specialist circles, classes at colleges and universities or any other organised or open form of groups. in other words, you will yourself be able to create mini-bandh bhangar aawaj sites. this site and its groups can and should grow from just sharing thoughts to become tools for solid discussions, knowledge centres and development by bringing the right people together.
thank you all for a fantastic feedback, openly admitting that there is much to criticize. we choose to see this enormous engagement as an appreciation of this community and service, and our only focus these days is you.

1. The blog management is completely buggy. There is even no solid guidelines for the blog users. The management is completely un-professional and they hardly have any tolerance to some constructive criticism. Calling it a free service does not solve all the problems for sure. 2. The previous version had a good outlook and almost no one had any object about that. Now a sudden beta-version appears with all the strange looks.
3. The previous version was supporting unicode as well. So, I did not see any problem keeping both options as it was.
4. The previous version had severe security problems. At times, we have seen people deleting other people's posts, commenting using other users' names and things like that. I have no idea how much of those bugs are solved.
5. Some of my posts were deleted in january. 2 of them are restored. My sincere thanks for that. But still at least one of those posts is missing. I have sent at least 8 emails regarding this and also talked with one of the developers and still there is no improvement of the situation.
5. Again the free service question. Free service does not mean unprofessional service. We, the bloggers also contribute in a great extent and in reply, we must expect that things should be handled professionally. If you can manage that you are most welcome. If not, please dont come up with the term 'free service' as the excuse. (The blog itself may be a free service; but it is part of somewherein's business strategy for sure; e.g., before knowing this blog I never even heard the name of somewherein. So, calling it a free service is actually an invalid excuse.)
6. Every blogger here is completely grateful to somewherein and we all want the best out of it. If you could handle things with a little more professionalism, getting rid of the authority culture that Bangladesh (sorry to say; but true) have, I am sure it will be a great success.

I feel all somewherein users are talented and they share their talents through their blogs. Without them somewhereinblog has 'No BandhBhangar Awaz'. They provide their 'Service' for free. I agree with the fellow user (CHOR), I never would have known about SomeWhere in .. unless one user have said me about it. So please donot provide such reasons to the users you have, remember they are the heart of this blog.
Being a professional company, I will strongly recommend to deal everything with care without showing any lame reasons.
Also for the fund thing ... Dream for the day when, you are having 1,000,000++ (and increasing) pageviews a day .. you put some ads (those contextual ads from bigger companies) ... and you will get more funds that you have spent for this blog till date and you will get that within a few months (trust me it is the true factor).
All of us really appriciate your work and we are greatful to you of what you have done so far. That is why all users are collecting the errors they get and posting it , thinking somwhereinblog will be the best soon.
I dream for the day to see somewhereinblog as the best. I hope my dream will come true.

the difference between a paid service and a free service (did not mean it as a lame excuse), is that a paid service can afford to have a large team of support and tech service. we try our best, but time is not always on our side even though we give as many talents as we can afford for this site.
we hope to give you a translation of this post, but again, should we wait for that, our much required information would have been further delayed. lets therefore try to communicate with each other more than less. i read your comments in bangla, but have to reply in english. don't hesitate, tell me how you want the blog, be happy, be angry, this is your blog and we try our best to give you a better blog experience, we just have to take the bugs one by one.

আমার মনে হয়, পুরো স্ক্রিপ্টটার সোর্স যদি আপনার ওপেন করে দেন সেটাই সুবিধা হবে। কি ধরনের সুবিধা হবে তা তো আপনাদেরকে আর বলার অপেক্ষা রাখে না। সামহয়্যার ইনের প্রায় সবাইতো ওপেন সোর্স মুভমেন্টের অনুরাগী। সেক্ষেত্রে শুধু আপনাদের এই ব্লগ পলিসিটা পরিবর্তনই যথেষ্ট।একটা ওপেন সোর্স বাংলা ব্লগ ফ্রেমওয়ার্কও পাওয়া যাবে আর এই বাগগুলোও টেকনিকাল ইউজাররা সমাধানে সাহায্য করতে পারবে।

ধন্যবাদ আরিল। আমি ম্যাক ইউজার। আগে আমি সাফারিতে ব্লগের সব ফন্ট ঠিকঠাক দেখতাম না। কিন্তু নতুন ভার্ষানে এ সমস্যা নেই। তবে আপনাদের দেয়া ফন্ট সাগর কিন্তু আমার ম্যাকে চলেনা - serious problem দেখায় ফন্ট বুকে। তো আমার মনে হয় - ফন্টটাতে হয়তো সমস্যা আছে যা আগেও কেউ একজন বলেছে।

Dear Arlid,Sensing your frustration with the impolite type of criticisms made by the bloggers, I want to reassure you on some issues, which I can guarantee are not mere words of condolence.
Firstly, Bangla loving bloggers throughout the world who I am certain you too will agree are lifeblood of this site reacted heavily as they seen their beloved blog-site has sunk down in the name of improvement. Due to their immense love for this site and familiarity with the earlier version they were traumatized to see the under-performance of the new Beta-site, which totally replaced the earlier better performing version. It is due to the bloggers love, affection and dependence they whimpered out with anger and loss of a beloved site. Although the way the bloggers uttered their frustrations were not refined enough, considering the behavioural pattern of the virtual world, with a professional attitude you can consider these as necessary feedbacks.
Secondly, we as bloggers are always thankful to ‘somewhere in blog’ for providing us a wonderful platform to instantly express our views and thoughts and all of we gratefully recognise your benevolence for keeping this service free. Yet, if you can remember in our meeting in Dhaka the only point I made was to make the site financially viable so that you can employ at least one administrator/developer to ensure a professional, uninterrupted service. So rather harping on the point of free service please take action to provide us a professional service for which if needed many bloggers like me will happily contribute a reasonable amount. For such contributing bloggers you can supply extra features in their personal blogs.
Thirdly, most of the times we overlook the basic issues and hence ‘back to basic’ is a brilliant management mantra. Due to that I want to reiterate the primary features we want from a blog site; an efficient template capable to allow flawless writing of Bangla words and sentences along with a slightly upper-end feature of uploading some photographs to emphasise the write-ups. This is a far less demand than what we get from a basic word processor. It will be more than wise if ‘somewhere in blog’ rework the site to provide these bare basic things. After that, any improvement on top of the basic features will be certainly welcomed by the blog community. At the moment, the site has messed up with the basic features, which were better served by the previous version, though you and the team are pledging lofty facilities.
Standing on my above-mentioned clarification I will once again suggest that please concentrate on very basics first, at least one full-time developer/administrator, and make the site financially viable. From the basic skeleton the site can develop gradually with the help and according to the demand of its users.
Please do not undermine our appreciation and fondness hidden behind the boorish criticisms. Finally, a warm appreciation for your arduous deeds and promise on behalf of the bloggers to always be available to support and co-operate you guys in this huge endeavor. We never lost faith in you, hope you will also keep yours on us and together, I am certain that, we will reach the success-line.
