Don’t you love it when a company known for smart high street fashion also turns out to be a business full of future-gazing, sassy women supporting the next generation of young career girls? I do.

Warehouse is the fashion company in question, and it has just launched Women to Watch, a timely campaign which pairs eight of the brightest rising female stars across fashion, film, set design, photography, music and digital with eight successful female mentors in matching careers.

Better still, Grazia has teamed up exclusively with Warehouse and Women to Watch to bring you 60 second interviews with everyone involved. The end result is reams of insider knowledge, inspirational ways of thinking and the smartest career advice going. Number one of which from rising star Chloe Watt of chloedigital is “don’t see a problem, see a challenge to overcome.”

Among the mentors is broadcasting royalty Edith Bowman, MOBO founder Kanya King and Sarah Drinkwater head of Goodge Campus London. These super in-the-know mentors will give the rising talent the advice and tools they need to take their career to the next level over the summer.

This couldn’t come at a more perfect time. New analysis reveals the number of women under 25 in work in the UK rose by more than the rest of Europe put together. Research also shows that more women than ever need advice to find and build a career they love, rather than go into unsatisfying jobs that don’t have longevity.

In the films we ask, among other things, what drives them, and what their one piece of advice would be to a young woman in the early years of her career. Kanya King, MBE and CEO of Mobo organization says, “My motto is Live life, take risks, make a difference.”

MTV presenter Lilah Parsons who is being mentored by BBC presenter Edith Bowman says, “What I do is look at people a few years ahead of me, and I see what they did when they were at my stage and use that as my benchmark.”

“I think Women to Watch is amazing,” says Sarah Drinkwater head of Campus London at Google’s space for entrepreneurs in Old Street. “I think particularly in tech it’s important to have a personal identity. Women to Watch is all about women who’ve been through the first ten or so years of our career helping those starting out.” Drinkwater is mentoring Chloe Watt the tech designer behind the tech solutions blog chloedigital, who reveals to build her growing business she she “never sleeps. Sleep is a myth. With an online business, it is global before it is local, I am liaising with people in America all the way to Australia. I've developed a sixth sense for when I knew a client needs me, regardless of the time. Funny enough they often ask me if I ever sleep!” Now that is commitment!

As for me, my rising star is the amazing fashion illustrator Lo Parkin who, when we met, handed me a fold-out illustration from a recent London Fashion Week, showing hand-drawn images depicting fashion editors, street-style stars and catwalk moments, which, in all, had taken her “593 hours, 11 fineliner pens, 43 pencils, 77 colouring pencils and consisting of 57 illustrations.” I will be taking her to meet people, and having coffees to catch up over the summer all with the aim of furthering her career.

I’ll leave you with the inspirational Kanya King’s career advice. “Be prepared to commit to something. Don’t do a bit of everything – Yes, have a wide knowledge of what’s around you (or even not around you) but become proficient at this one great thing that will set you apart from anyone else, that will make you unique. What it is? You have to find out yourself! Know your strength, own your strengths.”
