According to a report of today's Daily Janakantha, a medium-sized hilsa is selling at BDT 1,500 to 2,000, comparatively big ones at BDT3,500 to 4,000 each!! And the sale is going on with the price spiraling up to meet and match the high-rising demands mainly of the urban "gentry".
How could the economists, the sociolinguists or the market observers could call this? Should not they call it a vulgar display of money, a cruel expression of inequality or a heartless display of the dirty face of free-market economy? What would you say
