A DERBY hairdresser's business has been named by brides as the best in three counties at a national awards ceremony.

Beau Hair scooped the "Best Wedding Hair and Makeup Artists for Derbyshire, South Yorkshire & Nottingham" award at the first I Do Magazine Wedding Awards.

Tina Howarth and her mobile team of specialist bridal hair and make-up artists beat dozens of competitors to the top prize at the awards.

More than 200 wedding suppliers were entered for the awards and finalists attended Sheffield Town Hall where the winners were announced.

Tina, the owner of Beau Hair, started the company in 2012 and she quickly expanded the business to a team of nine.

The company now provides hair and make-up expertise for more than 200 weddings a year.

Tina said: "The company is fast becoming a well-known trend-setter, creating new hair designs for brides-to-be as well as being regularly featured in regional magazines.

"It is incredible to have our work recognised and all of the early mornings, travelling from venue to venue, have paid off.

"We cannot thank our brides enough, who all had to vote for us to achieve this award


"It really makes it even more special knowing how pleased our brides were with our service."

Last year, the team made finalist at three other wedding awards but have started off this year with a bang.

Tina said she and her staff were "delighted" to win the award, as they did not expect to receive the accolade.

Now, they are all taking it in turns to display the trophy in their salons.

Tina said: "It is currently being passed around all of the stylists as they all have a small studio at home, as we are a freelance company.

"But eventually everyone will have their own one to present in their studios."
