Twenty innocent human being were murdered in the most heinous and horrific way imaginable. The persons who have carried out such an barbaric act apparently had a life as normal as any other young people in Bangladesh up until they were radicalized.

As their life story unfolds in social media, my heart feels with sadness. It seems, once they had all the aspirations of youth- family, education, ambition, desires. They even fell in love or may had crush for one of their classmates.

Normally, the terrorist networks in Bangladesh targets Madrasa Students for recruitment but last few terrorist attacks were carried out by the students of elite-expensive schools (North South University) which is a serious concern. How did the recruiters even reach them?

The Radicalization Process of Educated and Wealthy Class Begins With Tablig Jamat:
I certainly know this piece of writing would take me one step closer to a horrible death or a step closer to prison if I'm lucky enough to escape machete. Being involved in Bangladeshi Blog movement its a risk we all have taken and like all other secularists my death warrant may already has been issued. So be it.

Case Study 1: Back in the days when I was heavily involved with Bangladesh Chattra League- a former colleague, general Secretary of a large university college unit of BCL, a front line defender against Jamat-Shibir chose to embrace a pious way of life. He got involved with Tablig-Jamat. At the beginning it was just a shift towards an active religious life style which was appreciated by the most, more or less.

Gradually, he was spending more time with his newly found associates. It was all good to us as most of us came from a Muslim background and embraced Islam. We even praised him. Our general assumption like every other Bangladeshi was, "Tablig Jamat is a peaceful movement promoting Islamic ethics and life style."

He attended their regular study circle known as " Ghast" and ultimately committed to the Hundred and twenty days " Chilla". After that 12o days journey he was a different person. The comrade once we knew, disappeared. There were a dramatic shift of views, he was even spotted supporting "Taliban" in public as the war on terror in Afghanistan was at full force back then. It was an embarrassment for the BCL.

Case Study 2: Back in 2012-13 when I was writing a series of dating articles on http://www.projonmoblog.com, a young college student (18-19) approached me on Facebook- he was passionate, curious, perhaps charged with libido ( Apparently) young lad. I had to answer bundles of his questions on how to approach women or how to connect with them even when I felt annoyed.

Then there were a long gap until I noticed him posting religious texts and quotes. I came to know that he got involved with Tablig- Jamat as I asked him about his sudden change out of curiosity.

He bombarded me with a different type of messages. I was laughing only until he started threatening me for my writing and opinion in relation to religious matters.

Unexpected events happen in the earlier stage of life. Often for a young person these events are unexplainable. It shakes their idea of existence. No young person is free from the feeling of guilt because of the struggles of adaptation to ever changing circumstances and their continuous seek for validation. The experiences they go through are not always what they were told or taught. In the journey to adulthood they experience pain, betrayal, dishonesty, lies and reality of life. It sometimes makes them do the wrong thing which drives them to a deep feeling of guilt.

Religions are cleverly designed to make us feel guilt of our action consciously or unconsciously and to seek validation from the God's people. And a young person with feeling of guilt can be the easiest pray. Tablig Jamat always has a tendency of targeting the rebellious kid of the group as they use guilt as a tool to manipulate the rebellious young person.

Once a Tablig-Jamat operator spots a potential they just make the vulnerable person feel more guilt for his actions and once they starts to feel enough guilt the notion of salvation put forward to them. Thus the journey to win back validation and approval begins. Later during the 120 days journey of salvation, a person is observed and scrutinized more closely and carefully and there is always a strong chance of being identified as a potential candidate by a recruiter.

I'm not arguing that every person involved with tablig jamat is a terrorist or every one chose the path to embrace an active Islamic life is a terrorist. Its quite opposite, most of them are very decent, honest people but unfortunately for many young people Tablig-Jamat was the first stop towards the dark path of terrorism.

Case Study 3: This is my own experience. Being born and raised in Bangladesh ( And being the Rebellious kid of the group) for me it was obvious to be approached by Tablig -Jamat operators. Though, I never joined them but out of politeness I had to engage with them in many conversations. Few things I have learnt from those conversation:

1. There are something around 240 / 44 ( I forgot the exact number 200 OLi 40 Abdel or 40 Oli 4 Abdel) Oli's and Abdel's in the world. They are the supreme authority of Tablig. No one knows who they are. They communicate with each other telepathically.
2. Imam Mehdi has already born and he has visited the Tablig leaders already. Therefore the biggest Jihad of all time would be declared very soon.
3. He would appear in Mecca during Hajj in an Odd year. This is why tablig leaders from around the world take part in Hajj every Odd year.
4. Imam Mehdi's would set his Head quarter in a Damescus Mosque ( I forgot the name) and Jesus/Isa would join him there.
5. As The Imam has already born it is just a matter of time for the call of Jihad and it is compulsory for every Muslim to respond to the call.

Studying those information carefully- no one has to be a rocket scientist to understand what type of ideology they are spreading.
As the Tablig-Jamat has escaped the radar of scrutiny successfully, it has become one of the most effective if not the most effective tool to recruit and to spread the radical ideology.

In Sydney, I was approached by Tablig people in my early days many times until they came to realization, I'm one of those totally lost causes. I knew a highly educated and very prominent Australian citizen of Bangladeshi origin heavily involved with Tablig-Jamat. On my way to home I have noticed his 6-8 year old son playing with a toy AK 47 dressed as a Jihadist and I heard him teaching his son that he must sacrifice his life in Jihad if required.

For many years, it was believed education and opportunity is the best defense against radicalism. As the events unfold around the world, seemingly that is not a solution any more. The terrorists have already proven themselves one step ahead of the so called terrorism experts. They are quite capable of targeting well educated and comparatively wealthy persons.

The horror we going through demands a drastic change of approach both legally and ideologically. Sugar-coating the religion of peace myth or terrorists are not true Muslims are not working at all. Those messages have failed absolutely. The situation is getting worse all around the globe.

Muslims as a group of people or as an individual are as peaceful as any other human being. But still a handful of them creating such suffering to humanity. They must identify the root cause of such moral disaster. There has to be something fundamentally flawed within the ideology which must be addressed strongly and immediately. There are over 160 texts frequently used by the terrorists to win over the youth and to justify their actions. Apparently neither the Clerics nor the Leaders of the Muslim world confronting them effectively. This needs an end.
