We're getting closer to Dick Tracy all the time.
You'll remember that the venerable comic book detective had, in addition to that stylish yellow trench coat, a two-way radio that he wore on his wrist. Well, a company out of Australia has created something very close, what they say is the world's first truly mobile GSM watch phone.
You look at the picture and see just another wristwatch. But SMS Developments says the M300 is much more than that. First of all, it has SMS capabilities (thus the name). Secondly, it is indeed a mobile phone, sporting tri-band GSM/GPRS protocols in the 900/1800/1900 MHz ranges.
The antenna is an internal one, so you won't get a Dick Tracy-esque wristwatch antenna. You do get Bluetooth functionality, though, and can use a Bluetooth headset for your calls. Your talk time is 80 full minutes, which should be more than enough time to give you a sore neck from bending over to talk into the watch speaker.
You can get one of these watch/phones, in either black or silver and red.
