I was under the impression that the Westerners have such a terrible pride in them that they forget to praise others. But now-a-days it is happening in our country as well. We are jealous all the time. Say, my colleague has written a very good essay and I notice that he is quite well in writing. What do we think? We think, 'is he better than me' or 'is he showing that he is better than me?' I think these thoughts are curse for human existence. We are suppose to praise others and always encourage them. I see, this custom existed among our elders, among our fathers and grandfather's generation, but now we are rigid to express anything? One always wants to hear good words about himself or herself but he or she forgets to praise others. Why is life so cruel? Why are we so brutal to each other? This lack of admiration creates distances among human beings and distorts human bonds.
I know, still there are plenty of people who are always enthusiastic about others' qualities and praise them a lot. But the number of these optimistic people is decreasing. Thus, we are not even praising our friends 'cause we think that it will destroy our personality? May be, I myself, am not free from this negative attribute but why we have to be victimized by this psychological complexity in this era of free thinking?
