Education is the backbone of a nation. A scholar said that it is wealth for the poor and ornament for the rich. But it is becoming a great source of earning massive profit for investors. So related fees are increasing day by day from school to university level with the increasing of other necessary commodities. “ My best friend got admitted got admitted to a private engineering university as he failed to pay the amount private medical colleges are demanding. His dream of becoming a physician was dashed.” Said Sumi, a student (The Star, January 1, 2010). Though the public universities’ students have to pay low comparatively with private universities, but they have to pay 2/3 years more from life and bear educational expenses during this time aimlessly causing session jam. Recently Prof. Gowher Rizvi has recommended to redesign varsity curriculum. I think with redesigning the curriculum the Govt. also should think about expenses, session jam, and corruption in education sector. PM said, “Now we are again putting in our best efforts for raising the country’s literacy rate because we believe development can not be expected without education” (The Daily Star, January 4, 2010).I also appreciate that Govt.is taking initiatives for making education free up to the degree level and think that it will be available for all.
