During the world war 2, undivided India were used as a base for air attack and many soldiers and airmen died being injured in hospital. Present Bangladesh (previous undivided India) have two war cemeteries, one in Chittagong with more then 750 burials and the other in Comilla with 736.
The location is just before starting of comillah cantontment gate and then take left for 10 minutes by car if you come from Dhaka.
The first look of the gate will make you stop to thing about what happened in those soldiers. There are some rules you need to maintain there and a notice board has covered all these.
Comillah a very large hospital and reinforcement centre and an important air base during second world war. it was also the site of the fourteenth army headquarters for a year until October 1944 when it moved to Imphal. The 736 war soldiers were buried mainly from the hospitals but include some moved in from isolated sites after the war. By service they comprise 3 sailors, 567 soldiers, and 166 airmen. There is also one non-world war grave in the cemetery.

Well the beauty of cemetery has been maintaining since the beginning and the salary of workers comes from UK. It is open for all with no ticket system.The composed burial lines are eye catching and there is a big cross straight to the gate.There are so many flowers and colorful leaves tree will be seen insight.
Each and every grave has template with soldier's details on it. The backside of the place has been covered by green grass.
It's really matter of sorrow that this place has not have enough publicity.
