Passengers were looking for better train services as they started buying tickets at higher prices. Now, govt has hiked the ticket fares and freight charges by 7.23 percent on average to cut losses. They are now focusing on improve services to justify the hike. Shortage of tickets, uncomfortable seats, filthy toilets, delay in schedule and overcrowding are some major problems facing the railway. The railway authorities now improve services of these problems. Most of the time people used to travel standing all the way and don't get any seat ticket. Now they will get seat ticket. Almost all the trains run at least half an hour behind schedule. For the initiative of present government it was trying hard to improve the train services. After the implementation of the new fares, the state-run organisation would earn only an additional Tk 45 crore a year. For better Bangladesh, railway authorities must curb corruption and ensure proper management of the railway's resources to recoup its losses
