Dhumketu Rocket
Launching a rocket is not a piece of cake. In Bangladesh, there is no evidence of launching any rocket by the government or anyone. This challenging work is almost done by a bunch of young students of Mymensingh Engineering College (MEC). The rocket is ready to launch waiting for the permission of the administration. Mymensingh Engineering college is not well known to everyone but this underdog technical institute provides 4 years of BSc engineering degree since 2008 and is affiliated with the University of Dhaka. Many students of this institute went abroad for higher education and research purpose with a fully-funded scholarship. Now, a new era has begun with the rocket launching project. A group of 20 students works on this project. The rocket will go 20 kilometres towards Space for observing weather conditions and return back to earth. The rockets are 12 feet and 6 feet in length. Software is made for controlling the rocket. The rocket's name is dhumketux 0.1 which is going to launch. Nahiyan Oli , The team leader said that he has been working with this project since 2015 , there is no economic aid from academics or any other source. The project is run by students self-funding. There is a scarcity of a safe place for launching the rocket and economic Crysis for making the project bigger. They need economical aid to grow their project more effective. No aid has come yet from the government or any other institute. Such attempts and enthusiasm should not stop in need of some economical help. If this project becomes successful , it can be helpful in our defence system and space research .
