Islamic University of Technology Photographic Society(IUTPS) is back with 'Break The Circle season 2'. The terms and conditions are as follows, which should be followed strictly.

TERMS:

The submission for Break The Circle season 2 begins April 4, 2012 at 00:00:00 BD Local Time and ends May10, 2012, 23:59:59BD Local Time. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the official rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements listed below. This is a skill-based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners.

WHO MAY ENTER:

Participation is open only to individuals who are currently enrolled in undergraduate/postgraduate courses in any educational institutes.

HOW TO ENTER:

Each Entry consists of a single image, and an entry fee. The entry fee is BDT 500 per selected entry. To enter, submit your photographs by email to [email protected]

The email must contain a text file with required information:
• Participants name
• University name
• Address
• Contact number
• Email address
• Photo caption, description&
• Category for each photos
• Each photo should be renamed to

'univertsity name_participants name_category_title'.
For example: 'IUT_Sakib Al Hasan_Nature_Bulls Eye'

Any photograph submitted without a caption will not be accepted. A confirmation email will be sent to the entrant within 48 hours of receiving the photos. If no confirmation email is received, please resend your photos.

The Categories for entries are:
1.Portrait
2. Nature
3. Life-Style
4. Action
5. Macro
6. Wedding Moments

Each person can submit at most 2 photos per category and a maximum of 6 in total. Each entry must comply with the following requirements (the "photograph requirements"):

• Photographs must be in digital format.
• Only online entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry.
• Must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 2,500 pixels on the longer side. Minimum resolution is 300dpi.
• Photographs must have been taken within one year before the date of entry and did not previously have won an award in any photography exhibition in the last one year.
• Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDRI) and stitched panoramas are NOT acceptable.
• Any digital addition or subtraction of element(s) is unacceptable and will render the photograph ineligible.
• No watermark allowed.

Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud.

The photograph must be the sole work of the entrant. By entering, the entrant confirms that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph.

The photograph must not contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
The entries in each category will be judged separately, in accordance with the judging criteria, as defined below. All entries must be submitted and received by May 10, 2012 at 23:59:59 BD Local Time. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt. Organizer reserves the right to examine the original photograph/source material in order to confirm compliance with these rules.

JUDGING:

A panel of judges will select entries in each category from among all eligible entries. They will also select first, second and third place winners in each category. Winners will be notified by phone and email. Decisions of the judges are final.

LICENSE:

By entering,all entrants grant an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to authorized parties, to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the entries (along with a name credit) in connection with the exhibition and promotion of the exhibition, in any media now or hereafter known, including, but not limited to: display at a potential exhibition of winners; publication of a book featuring select entries in the exhibition; publication in online highlighting entries or winners of the exhibition. Display or publication of any entry on an authorized Party’s website does not indicate the entrant will be selected as a winner. Authorized Parties will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use. Additionally, by entering, each entrant grants to Authorized Parties the unrestricted right to use all statements made in connection with the exhibition, and pictures or likenesses of exhibition entrants, or choose not to do so, at their sole discretion.

If the photograph contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the photograph, the entrant is responsible all releases and consents. The organizer will not take any responsibility for any third party copyright infringement.

RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND EXHIBITION:

If for any reason the exhibition is not capable of running as planned or any other causes beyond the control of IUTPS that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this exhibition, IUTPS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the exhibition. If sponsor elects to cancel or terminate the exhibition, sponsor will not retain any rights in the submitted photographs, and will return the fees submitted with each entry.

WINNERS LIST:

Entrants are responsible for complying with these Official Rules. Winners' names will be available online after June 1, 2012.
