Now a Days come to light of the torture abuse& killing of children country wide. 'Rajon'&'Rakib ' is just a sample of those events.
The government should take immediate action against the culprits and give them exemplary punishment without fail. At the same time, it should show zero-tolerance to any form of infringement of child rights because that creates grounds for further violation. Unless we put a brake on the menacing trend we wonder how many more children would have to lose their lives to such severely jolting savagery.
Though Our laws on child rights are very strong. child abuse existsalmost like a normal daily affair. also the execution of the laws is not satisfactory at all. The main reason behind this is the lack of awareness. Every mother, father and child themselves must know of child rights and should know how to handle things once the case is taken to the police station and eventually the court or Human rights organization or focus on media. As citizens of Bangladesh it is our duty to protect our children, who are said to be the backbone of the nation. Even if we are not abusers, our silence does not make us any better than them. Through the acceptance of the use of violence and force, acceptance of physical punishment of children,acceptance of parents "ownership" of childrenand their right to treat children as they see fit, any kindof violent discrimination and inequality between men and women, we involuntarily support and encourage child abuse.To really build a better Bangladesh, we have tostop, look around and see everything for what it is.There is no point in denying that Bangladesh has an alarming rate of child abuse.we have to mind, “Our children are our greatest treasure.
