ইসলাম সম্পর্কে মুসলিমদের ভিতরেই অনেক বিভ্রান্তি কাজ করে; নর ও নারী সৃষ্টি প্রসঙ্গটি এরকম একটি। সঠিকভাবে, সম্পূর্ণভাবে পুরোটা কুরআন না পড়া এবং বোঝাকেই হয়তো দায়ী করা যায়। নিজে পড়া বা বোঝার সামান্য চেষ্টা না করে ধর্মের ব্যাখ্যার জন্য অন্যের কাছে অতিরিক্ত মুখাপেক্ষি আমরা।

অনেকেই বলেন যে প্রথম নারীকে আদমের পাঁজরের হাড় থেকে তৈরী করা হয়। এর কোন ধরনের ভিত্তি কুরআনে নেই এবং এটি সরাসরি বাইবেল থেকে ইমপোর্ট করা একটি ভুল কনসেপ্ট। যারা মুর্খ মোল্লাদের কাছ থেকে অনুরূপ ব্যাখ্যা পড়েছেন বা শুনেছেন তাদের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষন করছি। রেফারেন্স স্বরূপ এখানে মুহাম্মদ আলীর কুরআনের অনুবাদ (1928) এবং ব্যাখ্যা উল্লেখ করা হলো।

O people! Be careful of your Lord, who created you from a single being and created its mate of the same (kind) and spread from these two many many men and women; and be mindful of God, by whom you demand one of another (your rights), and to the ties of relationship. (Chapter 4, verse 4)

And God has made your partner for you from yourselves (chapter 16: verse 72)

The statement made here is that for all men in general the partner or wives are created from their anfus (plural of nafs, meaning soul or self), and the Bible theory that Eve was created from Adam
