Flames' Sam Bennett set for shoulder surgery, out 4-6 months

Sam Bennett, the Calgary Flames' pick Nike nfl jerseys cheap authentic at fourth overall in this year's NHL Entry Draft, will miss the next 4-6 months as he is set to undergo surgery on his shoulder next week. This was somewhat expected as the team learned this week that Bennett had been nursing a bad shoulder for an extended period of time.

The 18-year-old had a shot nfl jerseys cheap at making the NHL roster this year, but it was also a strong possibility that he would be sent back to Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League. Now he won't be playing anywhere for the first half of the season or more.

Bennett's injury and subsequent time off is certainly a setback for the Flames. It's not terribly damaging in the short term to the team as the team won't have to worry about burning a year off his entry level contract. Where it may hurt is in the lost development time for Bennett.
