1. Sony PlayStation 3 (60GB) with video
I Want It!
All the consoles are in, and our editors have posted a final score in the next-gen gaming war. According to our three-way battle, Sony's PlayStation 3 is the gaming machine to beat. With high-def games and Blu-ray movies, backward compatibility with prior PS2 and PS1 games, a great UI, and HDMI output, it's the most well-rounded of the new machines. But its price is a definite barrier: $600 for the Wi-Fi-enabled 60GB version. The $250 Nintendo Wii is a great buy for the budget-minded, while the Xbox 360 has more great games and excellent online play

2. T-Mobile Dash with video
I Want It!
The Motorola Q was red-hot for months after it was released, but it looks like T-Mobile has a bona fide Q killer on its side. The T-Mobile Dash edged out the Q in our recent Prizefight, thanks to its good looks, integrated Wi-Fi, and superior call quality. For the time being, at least, this is the smartest smart phone out there.

3. iPod Nano (2nd generation, 8GB, black) with video
I Want It!
It's been a while since we've seen an iPod on our Must-Have Gadgets list, but it's back with a vengeance. The second-generation iPod Nano has throwback looks (the iPod Mini-esque aluminum frame), a larger storage capacity (up to 8GB), an array of colors, and the same easy UI that iPod users know and love. Plus, if you buy the red Nano, $10 of your money goes toward fighting AIDS in Africa. Welcome back, iPod. You've earned it.

4. Toshiba Gigabeat S MES30VW with video
I Want It!
Behold, the rare gadget that actually lives up to--if not surpasses--the hype. We've been waiting for the Toshiba Gigabeat S Portable Media Center to get here since we saw it at CES, and now that it's here, it delivers. We're talking excellent sound, landscape video playback, support for tons of file types and subscription services, and even compatibility with the Xbox 360. This is the new hard-drive multimedia portable to beat.

5. Dell XPS M1710 (Core 2 Duo)
I Want It!
Dell's Core Duo-based M1710 laptop was already our pick for the best gaming notebook. Now that it's loaded with the mobile Core 2 Duo CPU, it's practically unstoppable. And get this: the Core 2 Duo version costs less than its predecessor, even though its guts (save for the brand-new CPU) are the same: Nvidia's GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics-processing unit with 512MB of dedicated memory and a 100GB hard drive that's blazing fast (7,200rpm). Thanks to the new CPU, its battery life and application performance have improved, too.

6. Sling Media Slingbox A/V with video
I Want It!
Want to watch TiVo'd shows at a coffee shop, the ball game on a plane, or C-Span at a sports bar? All you need is a windows XP laptop or windows Mobile handheld, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a Slingbox. Of the three brand-new additions to the Slingbox lineup, we love the Slingbox A/V's $180 price tag and simple setup the best.

7. Nintendo DS Lite with video
I Want It!
Need a sleek portable gaming machine that won't break the bank and boasts a ton of great games? It's time to look past the Sony PSP. Nintendo's DS Lite may not have the PSP's multimedia features, but it sure makes up for it with an affordable price tag ($129), microphone- and Wi-Fi-enabled gameplay, fun games, and backward compatibility with most Game Boy Advance titles.

8. Panasonic TH-50PH9UK
I Want It!
We still give Sony's gorgeous KDS-R60XBR1 the nod in terms of image quality, but its $5,000 price tag is mighty intimidating. If you want the best plasma value for the money, Panasonic's 50-inch TH-50PH9UK is a no-brainer. Keep in mind that it's a bare-bones set: you'll need an external HDTV tuner, external speakers, and a stand for it. But it offers clean video and deep blacks, and it's a phenomenal deal at $2,500.

9. V-Moda Bass Freq headphones
I Want It!
If you have a top-notch digital music/video player, you'll need some top-shelf headphones to go with it. V-Moda's Editors' Choice winners deliver great bass that belies their small size, and they're our pick for the best earbuds for less than $50. Of course, they're a great buy only if you like earbuds, but we've rounded up the best headphones of each type right here.

10. Canon PowerShot S80 with video
I Want It!
No one camera can please both novice and more-experienced photographers, but Canon's PowerShot S80 comes mighty close. This point-and-shooter boasts an array of manual and automatic settings, so there's something for everyone. It also offers top-notch images, and at 8 megapixels, there's plenty of resolution to work with if you want to blow up images to poster size. We also like its nice, big 2.5-inch LCD and durable construction.
