Greetings from Bangladesh.

As you might have seen our project (DatourX: Fighting Depression with advanced AI and ML) in the idea section, we are very happy to discuss our idea with you. And our team is highly interested to know your personal opinion.

Context:
Its very rare to find someone who has not passed critical time with unbalanced mental health. Many of us felt lonely, when we simply needed another person to whom we could talk to.
There are many societies all over the world, who  still don't recognize depression seriously, as the roots of depression are directly linked with many social issues (like stigmas, poverty, corruption etc). But there are other elements too that can cause depression.

All of us know how digital social platforms are continuously being used for spreading hate, anger and unwanted toxicity. Everyone would also agree that it's a next to impossible mission, that we can fix the entire internet. Because different people from various backgrounds will interact at the same platform at the end of the day.
So what's the next level solution?

 
Current technologies:
Depression can lead many of us from disability to suicide. When the situation gets worse, we need medical attention and direct engagement with mental healthcare professionals.  

It is very amazing that there are several companies and start-ups who are already working on mental health complexities. We know of woebot or wysa, which are dedicated AI chat-bots, that can guide you in your worst times, and they are scientifically proven.  

"Eight Billion Minds" is a new digital therapeutics program with a vision to remove barriers to mental healthcare for millions of people around the world. They will be delivering effective and regulated digital therapeutics for prescription use. They use AI too.

But the problem is, a patient needs a paid subscription to access these technologies. But many of the depression patients don't think they need medical attention. Parents or partners also sometimes neglect the mental conditions of a patient.
 
So, we need an open source technology that can (in the best scenario) help people in times of depression.  

Our Innovation:
As we have mentioned before, "DatourX" is the brainchild of two teenagers from Bangladesh, you will be pleased to know that we still have not finished our high school education due to age restrictions.  

Both of us had a tough and traumatic past. But we have gladly overcome most of it by the help of computer technology. And we want to help others, who seek inspiration, motivation and personal assistance.

We dream of developing a system that will work hand in hand with tech giants like (Google-Facebook-Twitter) to create a comfortable environment for you, where you will get a chance to know, feel and understand better.    


More about our project:
We are planning to develop an app, which if installed in your device will work silently but surely.
 
We will contact psychologists, mental health care organisations and different skilled individuals, who will make a huge information database of educational and inspirational contents like music, books, movies, events, talks, arts, information, quotes etc.  

We will also try to filter contents that can cause mental harm or ignite irrelevant uncomfortable situations for an user.  

Our algorithms will silently suggest you the best options that will keep motivating you, suggesting you and inspiring you everyday.

Upcoming barriers for DatourX:
DatourX is talking of a technology that can spark limitless business opportunities. And the ever updating database is The Most challenging task for us.  

We have to keep in mind that we will create this technology for everyone. So we will need experts from all over the globe who will contribute to the database.
 
A large number of the contents are products that a user might buy or purchase. Like a book, a movie or a course.
So deciding which contents we will pick for the users is a really crucial job. As this can increase sales of a particular company or product.
There are some philosophical questions too. Like who decides what is inspiring and not controversial? We know how different society is divided into many beliefs and dogmas!

Opportunity
The AI and ML which is currently being used regularly can work perfectly in this project. We just have to attach this big database for using. The AI and ML will understand a person's preference and start suggesting accordingly.  

As our team goal is to create a better environment for everyone, we will welcome any challenges and face them with courage.
